Poor connectivity is not an edge case in commercial diving; it is normal working conditions. A system that quietly assumes a connection pushes the work back onto paper, which is the problem the software was supposed to solve in the first place.
D.O.P.A. has been tested offline with the Marine Deep team. The supervisor opens the operation, completes and signs the paperwork with no signal, and the completed records synchronise to the office once the device is back in range.

What happens when the signal drops
At the point of capture
The supervisor can open the operation and complete its forms when the device has no connection.
Until the signal returns
Completed records are held on the device, then synchronise to the office when connectivity is available again.

Offline working is how D.O.P.A. copes with site conditions. The point of it is the operational record — complete, synchronised and retrievable.
Back in range
And then it is an ordinary record
Once a device is back in range the completed operation synchronises to the office and behaves like any other: it can be reviewed, searched for later, and produced as the paperwork for that job. Nothing about it stays marked as “the one that was done offline”.

The operation has to reach the device first
The office creates the operation and it arrives on the supervisor's device with its forms attached. That part needs a connection. Once it is on the device, the paperwork can be completed without one.
Not “everything works offline”
What is tested and working is the part that matters on a quayside: opening the operation, completing its forms and signing them with no signal. We are not going to tell you the whole system is available offline in order to win the comparison.
No promise about how fast it syncs
Records synchronise when connectivity returns. How quickly depends on the connection you get back, which is not ours to guarantee — so we do not describe it as instant.
